Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo
Summary |
Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo is a cartoon-style scavenger hunt program in which players drive Putt-Putt the car around the paths of three different zoo regions in search of missing baby animals. As they explore the many clickables, they find and store in Putt-Putt's trunk the items necessary to help the animals. They can stop to play games along the way as well as learn interesting animal facts. I heard many giggles coming from my seven- and eight-year-old testers. |
Educational
This program teaches problem solving, logical thinking, animal facts, and shapes. It's also good for the young ones to increase their mouse manipulation skills. |
Fun Factor |
Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo is certainly enjoyable for young ones as well as those a few years older. Three and four year olds will need some help from an older child or adult, as navigation can be a big confusing. But even my eight-year-old son kept giggling, and couldn't get enough of the ice hockey game. |
Lasting Value |
There are multi-level activities found around the zoo, enabling a child to try something different during each visit. One is "Animal Tag," where children match special animals that pop up at random, thus practicing their attention to detail. There's a water slide maze that's also fun, six information stations offering interersting animal facts, and a camera option for printing pictures of animals. The ice hockey game was the most fun for my young testers. |
Quality |
The animations and music are well done. The program flows smoothly, although as mentioned above the navigation can be frustrating for younger children. Once it's been explained to them they understand, and don't seem to need help next time. |
Today is the grand opening of the Cartown Zoo. But food is running low and all the baby animals are missing! Putt-Putt and Pep need help to reunite the little ones with their parents before Outback Al can open the gates to the zoo. Along the way in their search of the missing baby animals, players swing across alligator-flooded rivers, play ice hockey with a polar bear, build a bridge out of icebergs, bop with dancing penguins, and more. This zoo is full of loyal friends and captivating challenges that are sure to run wild through any child's imagination.
If your child likes Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, then she/he will be sure to like these Putt-Putt titles.
