KidSource Editor's note: We have previewed this CD, and found it to present a wide variety of topics from conception through the birth process. It uses some scientific terminology which makes it most appropriate for teens. There is a lockout system which enables a parent or educator to keep certain graphics and photos inaccessible as deemed necessary. Life Begins has several levels of information on each topic. These can be viewed in movie format, offering greater detail, or slide format, giving one or two sentences on the topic at hand. Although not difficult to navigate, there is a lot of "point and click" involved when viewing the slide format. The content and use of scientific language might also make it a useful addition to a high school anatomy class.
Life Begins is a virtual library of knowledge and information to be discovered.
From the main page of the program, there are six sections to explore -- the Human Body, Man, Woman,
Pregnancy, Labor and Birth, and Life Choices. Within each section are various related subjects
which play an important part in creation and development.
Life Begins is an exciting and educational journey into the miracle of human life.
