WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 29, 1997 -- The American School Directory (ASD) announced today, at the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training in the White House, that Innisbrook Wraps, a national fundraising company of Greensboro, NC, has agreed to provide $5 million in free software and scanning services to 25,000 schools for Web site development. These EZ Graphics software programs and accompanying scanning services may be used to expand a school's ASD Web site by adding pictures, art, stories, calendars and school information. The free software packages, which have a $200 value, are available to any K-12 school, upon request at their school's ASD Web Site, http://www.asd.com, or by calling toll-free 1-800-929-4519.

"We are extremely pleased to have a national sponsor of this caliber stepping forward to help us on this project," said Tom Crook, CEO of the American School Directory. "A picture is worth a thousand words, and we are excited about adding pictures and artwork to 25,000 more school Web sites."

From it's beginning, the American School Directory has focused on equity. By providing a free Internet presence to all 106,000 K-12 schools, ASD created a level playing field for schools. ASD Web Sites are provided for all schools, public and private, urban and rural. Through Innisbrook's $5 million gift, 25,000 schools needing assistance with expanding their ASD Web Sites will receive it with no cost or obligation.

The American School Directory is also sponsored by Computers for Education, IBM, Vanderbilt University, Apple Computer, and has an endorsement from the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

ASD School Web Sites currently have school information, interactive maps, guest book registration, calendars and an Online Yearbook. ASD also offers an Alumni Directory with an interactive message board, registration and search features. Students, teachers and parents can also obtain free e-mail accounts using N2Mail. N2Mail was designed for ASD and boasts a choice of 150 domain names as well as special filtering features for young students. More than 20,000 schools have already expanded their ASD Web Sites by adding more than 80,000 pictures, student artwork and school articles.

"Schools are invaluable community resources," said David Worth, President of Innisbrook Wraps. "We view this gift as a continuation of Innisbrook's partnerships with primary and secondary schools across America, the ultimate beneficiaries being all our children."
