Grandpa Alden's sister, Jane, is not feeling very well. She's very tired, quite cross, and she doesn't seem to like anyone, including Grandpa Alden. So when Aunt Jane ends up all alone on her ranch out west, it's the Alden girls who go to care for her and try to bring her out of the the doldrums.
Soon a mystery begins to unfold and the clues are everywhere; from the stanger on the train to the beautiful yellow rocks on Aunt Janes ranch. When Henry and Benny come out to join the girls, the four Alden children find themselves unravelling the intriguing mystery...with some amazing result!
