The Gifted Kids' Survival Guide for Ages 10 & Under
by Judy Galbraith, Pamela EspelandParents typically forget what it's like to be a child. And if their child is gifted and the parent isn't, the parent probably doesn't really understand their child's life. This interesting book will help bridge this gap in understanding and it will help the gifted child to understand that they aren't unique in the world. The book not only answers the most common questions asked by gifted children and their parents about giftedness, it provides tips on perfectionism, boredom, making friends and working with teachers and school administrators. A must read for gifted students AND their parents.

The Survival Guide for Parents of Gifted Kids - How to Understand, Live With, and Stick Up for Your Gifted Child
By Sally Yahnke WalkerThis is an aptly titled book. If you know your child is gifted or if you think so, but aren't sure, then start with this book. It includes the key misconceptions, challenges, coping strategies and educational issues surrounding giftedness. We found that the most interesting chapter was "Living With Your Gifted Child". This is a humorous and very practical section on what life is like if your child is gifted. "Early walkers, speed talkers", "when neatness doesn't count", "coping with young lawyers" are a few of the subtopics covered.
