Try on clothes and shoes from last year and buy new ones as needed

Get back-to-school haircuts

Buy school supplies and books

Start getting the students to bed earlier

Make sure student has a quiet place to read and study - with all of the resources s/he needs

Find the lunch box

Finish any summer homework or reading assignments

Find last year's book bag or backpack and check it out

Put name labels on coats, sweaters, supplies, packs, etc.

Arrange for carpools if used

Update family calendar with 2006-2007 school calendar

Arrange after-school care or activities

Find out when fall parent-teacher conferences will be held, or arrange to meet with this year's new teacher
